Tube Design Tips

Creating artwork can be tricky, so we’ve got some tips on making the most of your canvas. If you’re struggling, we offer a FREE in-house design service.

Artwork

All artwork must be supplied as CMYK print-ready artwork with 3mm bleed and crop marks. PDFs are ideal but we can accept packaged .psd, .indd and .ai files.

Dimensions

We can provide artwork templates for all tube and tin sizes for you to utilise. As a guide the print area on our Small Tubes and Tins measures 207mm x 124mm and on Large Tubes it measures 248mm x 161.5mm.

Top tips

Practical design advice to help your artwork print beautifully

Start your custom quote

Use an equal column approach when considering your design, you can only see a third of the tube on the smaller tube or a quarter on larger tube at any one time.

Avoid using a design that connects across the overlay section, as it does not always line up perfectly.

An ideal solution is a block of colour – you could even use this section to hold your call to action.

The centre of the artwork is the best area to use as your focal point as it offers no distractions due to glue lines or similar.

Leave space for ingredients, allergens and best before dates, along with an address or contact details for traceability.

These are a legal requirement and must be on the tube or tin
somewhere.
